Google Two-Step Verification

2-Step Verification (also known as Two-Factor Authentication or 2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your school Google account. When signing in, you will enter your password and complete a second verification step on your phone or trusted device to ensure it’s really you.

  • Open Your Google Account Settings
    Open your web browser and go to myaccount.google.com and make sure you are signed in with you CCS account (check the profile icon in the top right corner).
  • Open Security & Sign-in Menu
    In the left-hand navigation panel, click on Security (or Security & Sign-in), scroll down to the How you sign in to Google section and Click on 2-Step Verification.
  • Open Security & Sign-in Menu
    Click Get Started (or enter your current Google account password to verify your identity if prompted). Choose Phone Number (Text / Call), Google will send a 6-digit verification code via SMS or voice call.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your phone number or device.
  • Click Turn On to activate 2-Step Verification.
