How To Connect to Apple TV

Estimated reading: 2 minutes 0 views

You can wirelessly stream or extend your MacBook display to a classroom Apple TV using AirPlay. This allows you to present slides, play video, or share documents without needing physical cables. Ensure your MacBook is connected to the school Wi-Fi network (CCS WIFI). You can see a tutorial on how to connect to the wifi here

  1. Click the Control Center icon (the two toggle switches icon) in the top-right corner of your Mac’s top menu bar, then click on Screen Mirroring.
        1. Select Your Apple TV by your class name. A drop-down list of available AirPlay devices will appear. Select the name of your classroom Apple TV.

If an AirPlay Password dialog appears on the TV screen, enter the password into the prompt on your MacBook. If you forget your Apple TV airplay password, you can contact ICT.

Once connected, you can choose Your Display Mode. Click the active Screen Mirroring icon in your top menu bar to adjust your screen view

        • Entire Screen: Clones your MacBook screen onto the Apple TV (shows the same screen as your MacBook screen).
        • Extended Display: Extends your desktop, making the Apple TV a second monitor (ideal for keeping speaker notes private while presenting).
        • Windows or App: Show a single app, window, or video to Apple TV

        How to Disconnect

        1. Click the Control Center or Screen Mirroring icon in the top menu bar.
        2. Click the highlighted Apple TV device name to stop mirroring.
